Welcome to the website of the North Canterbury Woodcraft Club Inc.
We are a friendly group of keen woodturners who meet regularly to help and support each other in the wonderful world of woodturning.There is a great mix in our members with both Junior teenage members as well as those who now have more time on their hands for hobbies. And it is not just for the males. We have a number of female turners of all ages. We meet on Wednesday afternoons, Thursday nights and most Saturday mornings in the Clubs workshop at the Northbrook Studios, Northbrook Road, Rangiora. (See the location map).
We are always looking for donations of suitable timber for our wood turning. Basically we are interested in anything apart from pinus radiata. New Zealand natives, fruit trees, English imports - ash, elm, walnut… all make great turning timber. If you have timber to donate or wish to know more about Club activities, please contact
The Club’s purpose is to further members’ interests in woodcraft and woodturning. We welcome new members and our experienced members are always available to help learn to turn. The workshop is equipped with a range of lathes, tools, and related equipment for members to use as well as a well equipped area for general woodworking. The Club’s monthly newsletters are available to download under the Newsletters section which will inform you of recent happenings and wood turning related matters.
